If companies are requiring a mandatory washout they need to have an onsite place to do the washout or reimburse for washouts . It’s getting ridiculous , one truck this week has had 4 washouts , just my thoughts

Why is it getting rediculous? I alway do my homework before booking loads that require washouts. I factor that into the price and make sure the customer knows that. We washout almost daily with most loads but it depends on what you are hauling. If you are into specialty grains or loads that require washouts, make sure to factor that into the cost of hauling the load, get reimbursed or simply dont haul it. I have turned loads down due to the red tape that is involved with hauling the load if I know they dont want to pay up for the load or if it requires a washout and there isnt a place nearby to washout. We also haul loads that require seals, so I make the customer pay for a box of seals or send me some. I invoice them the cost of the box and they reimburse me for them because I make sure all my drivers have at least a dozen seals on hand in their trucks at all times. |

I agree with you. It has become a ridiculous extra expense, particularly when you are forced sometimes into a 100 mile round trip just to wash. I had to wash today ($75) behind corn meal to load feather meal. Come on now. I’ve seen where others posted to “factor it in”. Don’t know where or what he’s hauling but I need some of that action
