Any input on hauling road salt being tough on your truck? I figure it’s gonna be hard on parts of my trailers just wasn’t sure if the fine dust would affect the truck paint much?!

Used to haul it in a Timpte. Figure on replacing door rollers and crank bearings at the end of the season. And if dumping in wind rows you'll want to grease all the brake cam bushings and slack adjusters at least once a week to push salt out of them. Nothing different then hauling fertilizer really. |

While on the subject of road salt, has anybody hauled it in a belt trailer? Is the salt treated with any sort of chemical that would be a concern with feed? How often do you get washed out? Thanks in advance.

Back in the old days people knew the answers to these questions before they jumped into business, but now everyone wants to start out at the top just like the DEI hires.

Chemically it's not much different than hauling fertilizer. If it sees any moisture get a washout and you'll be fine. |
