If you happen to see my profile, you know that most of my reviews are positive. I support small businesses and try to steer away from negative reviews. However, I need to let people be aware that there are many alternatives to Samsara ELD. I only have 1 semi and decided to just haul my farm products locally. I unfortunately forgot to cancel my subscription with Samsara and they billed me $1200. I hadn't used or logged in for a year and figured they would understand my situation. After multiple times of explaining and pleading my case they would not budge and said they only way to terminate was to pay. I've been a very low maintenance customer up to this point. The termination contract says I can't leave negative feedback. The amount I have to pay is basically the same amount if I keep it turned on for another year. Please let everyone know who you are using for your ELD provider. I'm sure there are several that are better and less money. Jeremiah Clark |

We run Samsara for our entire fleet and utilize the dash cams, ELD, safety ratings, ect. After diving into all the extra features we have realized we don't utilize half of the features and should do better.
We enjoy the system and all the technology. BUT, their customer service is TERRIBLE. No one answers the phone or emails in regards to account issues or billing issues. I don't see us changing in the future, but it would be great to be able to talk to someone there who has a clue what we need as company owners. |

I use Samsara and love it to be honest. The interface is very intuitive and easy to navigate. At $50/month for the full gps and telematics suite with dash cam, I think it is a great value. I do sympathize with your situation though, as I had a similar situation with KeepTrucking/Motive. I got locked into a 3 year contract and hated the service within the first year (constant connectivity issues). They would not let me terminate the contract. I switched to Samsara and continued paying for Motive until the 3 years were up. The ELD companies seem to be firm on their contracts, but ultimately they are the terms we agreed to when signing the contract, though it is always nice when companies are lenient on such terms. |

We run Samsara for our 100+ truck fleet and found that when an issue comes up, we reach out to our sales rep. That seems to get the fastest respose. We've had 15+ trailer trackers fail and once our sales rep got involved, I had replacement trackers in my office 2 days later.
Samsara is WAY better then Omnitracs ever was. Their customer service was aweful. |
